What happened to Toyota’s recall of 450,000 cars?

Within the recall range, the vehicle copilot airbag is also equipped with an ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant produced by Takata.
Tianjin FAW Toyota Automobile Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the copilot seat airbag gas generator produced by other suppliers free of charge for the recall of vehicles in the above range to eliminate potential safety hazards.
Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will recall some imported Lexus IS and IS-C vehicles from June 6, 2006 to September 12, 2012, totaling 14807 vehicles. The air bag gas generator (expansion device) in the Deputy seat of some vehicles in the scope of this recall may not be able to properly deploy the air bag when it is working due to improper handling by the supplier’s production workers during the abnormal stopping process of the equipment filling the explosive point, which may result in the improper filling of the explosive point and the existence of safety concealment.
